Jennifer Anne Buckley earned her B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2003. Her practice explores the subconscious through automatic movements inspired by the Surrealists’ automatism. Using spontaneous strokes of the brush, she builds abstract forms that evolve into unexpected compositions.
Her art has been exhibited widely, and it is included in permanent collections throughout the United States. Her work has been shown at the Lancaster Museum of Art in Pennsylvania, the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia, the University of Chicago, and galleries in Chicago, Washington D.C., and New York. She currently lives and works in Chicago.
